Cybersecurity professionals of color were identified and invited to participate.
A survey was sent to 32 participants to collect data on education, mentorship, discrimination, and career advancement.
12 participants were selected for in-depth interviews to gather personal experiences.
Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequencies, percentages) and inferential statistics (chi-square tests).
Interviews were transcribed and coded using grounded theory to identify emerging themes.
Recurring themes were identified from the coded qualitative data.
Quantitative and qualitative findings were combined to form a holistic understanding.
The analysis informed actionable strategies to address underrepresentation and promote diversity in cybersecurity.
